Romantic. Emotional. Personal.

While a wedding is about celebrating love with family and friends, portraits are about just the two of you. Portraits are a special time where we highlight the love that you have for each other in the way that is unique to you. Some couples love to laugh crazily together, others are more sensual. I like to have a good feel for who you are as a couple ahead of time so that on the day, I know how to prompt you into poses that feel authentic to who you are together so that you get the portrait moments that make you feel most beautiful on your day.

For every wedding I photograph, I put together a photography timeline for the day, and on that I usually note two times for portraiture if time permits in your schedule: First, a couples portrait session that will occur either after your First Look or after Family Portraits, and another at sunset. This gives you two very different styles of lighting and color tones, and each has a unique feel. Earlier portraits have a brighter, more contrasting lighting and sunset portraits give you a soft, ethereal glow.

I like to incorporate a variety of framing styles for your wedding portraits so that each image on it's own has a unique story and feel to it. My style usually includes very up close and emotional headshots, full body portraits to show off your outfits, candid moments, and energetic motion shots that add a feeling of movement to a still image. I strive to take photos that highlight both you and the environment your wedding or elopement takes place in in a natural way.

I edit for bold, true to life color with good contrast and deep blacks and clean whites and always strive for healthy, natural looking skin tones in all lighting.
